Cuttack: The juveniles in conflict with law are in need of special care and protection. The society and well as the government agencies have a pivotal role to play in rehabilitation them with a comprehensive action plan, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra said here today.
Justice Mishra while speaking at the State-level conference on Juvenile Justice: Issues and Challenges in Cuttack, underscored the need for joint action plan for bringing the juvenile delinquents as they are the future citizens of the country.
Corporate houses need to come forward in empowerment of juveniles, he said.
After subjected to reformation process, there is the urgent need for employing them as the juveniles in conflict with law may go astray again without any work to do, he felt.
They need the warmth, care and support from all quarters right from family, society to police officers. If handled with care, they could emerge as assets instead of liability, CJI justice Misra observed.
