Bhubaneswar: In a significant political development, former MP from Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency on Thursday tendered his resignation from primary membership of BJD.
“I have resigned from the party as I was ignored by party leadership. As the party no more required my services, I was forced to quit the party”, he said.
Political observers described Majhi’s resignation as a prelude to the brewing storm in the regional outfit.
Majhi is learnt to have been told that he will not be given party ticket in LS polls. That might have prompted him to quit the party, said sources.
As there is every likelihood of several MLAs and MPs being party tickets this time, apprehension of more resignations from BJD looms large, added sources.
