While giving an affidavit in the Supreme Court, he said that as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he will not allow any damage to the mosque. Despite this, on December 6, 1992, the same administration which used to harshly with the karsevaks in the Mulayam’s period, was watching the incident as mute spectacle.

Babri Masjid was demolished. Kalyan Singh was considered responsible for this. Kalyan Singh resigned from Chief Minister on December 6, 1992 while taking its moral responsibility. But on the second day the Central Government sacked the BJP’s UP government.
