Bhubaneswar: The Medical Council of India (MCI) has accorded its seal of approval for increased intake of MBBS degree courses in Odisha’s premiere S.C.B Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.
The MCI, the medical regulator, in a letter addressed today to secretary, union health and family welfare ministry called upon the ministry for issuance of notification for increased intake of students.
The SCB Medical College & Hospital has attained the eligibility for higher intake of medical students for MBBS courses on the basis of assessment report furnished by executive committee of the council. The report of the executive committee, which assessed the medical college and hospital on May 29 and July 6 and 7 on the seat intake, was approved by Oversight committee on August 31.
The increase in MBBS degree seat intake has been approved in accordance with under section 11 (2), Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, the MCI letter said.
