Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday ridiculed Bharatiya Janata Party for not having announced its chief ministerial face.
Patnaik, who was addressing a poll rally in Daspallah assembly segment of Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat, said “Who is BJP’s chief minister’s candidate. Where is his constituency? Is the party scared of declaring the chief ministerial face ahead of of polls?.
Political analysts are of the view that it was veiled insinuation on part of BJD supremo Patnaik towards Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Though the saffron party did not announce its chief ministerial face in the twin polls, it was Pradhan who principally shouldered the principal responsibility of poll campaign in the State. It was believed in political circles that Pradhan would be fielded in the assembly polls to send home the message to voters that Pradhan is in command in Odisha. However contrary to expectations, Pradhan was not fielded in the twin polls by the saffron party.
