Bhubaneswar : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday once again called upon the Centre to establish High Court (HC) benches in Western and Southern Odisha.
There is a continuous public demand for establishment of permanent benches of the High Court in western and southern Odisha. Agitation has been going on in this regard for considerable period of time. The agitation has affected the normal life and court proceedings as well. As the centre is empowered to take a final call in this regard, the union government should initiate steps for establishment of permanent high court benches keeping in view the growing public demand. The State government is ready to extend necessary support in this regard, Patnaik said in a letter addressed to Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
