Sukma: In the Kristaram police station area of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, today the Maoists blew up ‘anti-Landmines vehicle’ through landmine explosion, due to which nine CRPF soldiers were martyred and two others injured.
According to police sources, in the afternoon, around half a kilometer from Sukma district headquarters, the Maoists did the incident. After this incident, firing from both sides was also done. Later, Naxalites managed to escape inside the intensive forest. The injured were rushed to Raipur from the helicopter after the first treatment in Kristaram. The Naxalite also took the weapons of the jawans.
According to sources, the 212 Battalion CRPF personnel boarded ‘Anti Landmines Vehicle’ from Kristaram police station towards the Paldi village to protect the workers engaged in road construction work. Naxalites, who were ambushed in the forest, targeted the vehicle and exploded a landmine tunnel. The explosion was so powerful that the vehicle was blown up and eight soldiers in the vehicle were killed on the spot. Another broke down during the treatment. Two other soldiers are undergoing treatment. After the blast, the Maoists started firing. In response, the other soldiers present on the spot also took the front. Naxalites escaped after a brief encounter. Meanwhile, more force has been sent to the spot.
Inspector General of Bastar Vivekanand Sinha said that better treatment of the injured jawans is being taken care of.
