Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has geared up to host president Ram Nath Kovind in his two day visit to Odisha.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Additional Chief Secretary Home Sri Asit Kumar Tripathy, Director General of Police Dr Rejendra Prasad Sharma reviewed the preparatory work relating to president’s visit.
Kovind will grace three programmes during his visit. He would arrive at Bhubaneswar on March 17 and would dedicate the Anand Bhwan Museum and Learning Center at Tulasipur Cuttack to the people of Odisha.
Than after President would grace Foundation Day Celebration of National Law University Cuttack. On March 18, he would inaugurate Centenary Celebration of Rashtriya Sanskirt Sansthan at Puri. Further detail programmes are awaited from Presidents’ Secretariat.
The issues relating to air craft, guard of honour, security arrangements, accommodation, carcade arrangements, transport arrangements, medical and health care for the VVIP party, uninterrupted power supply, barricading, construction of dais etc were discussed in the meeting.
Chief Secretary Padhi directed concerned departments to stay alert and keep strict vigil over the entire process meticulously so as to make the visit of president free of any hitches and omissions. The authorities of the concerned institutions were advised to have regular liaison with home and police department regarding dais plan, regulation of crowd and gathering in meeting places. It was decided to set up a specific control room in Home Department under the charges of Special Secretary Home (Protocol) for coordination of the entire programme.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Tripathy, DG Police Sharma along with senior officers from concerned departments and institutions participated in the deliberations.
