Patkura By-poll : BJD, BJP’s Star Campaigners’ List Out

Bhubaneswar : With a week left for campaigning deadline for Patkura by-poll, BJD and BJP on Thursday released their list of star campaigners.

The ruling BJD’s star campaigners’ list is headed by party president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik. 40 senior BJD leaders including Patnaik figure in the list.

The saffron party also released the list of 25 leaders headed by petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan as their star campaigners.

Polling in Patkura Assembly seat which will be held on July 20 was initially scheduled on April 29, but it could not be held because of the death of BJD candidate Bed Prakash Agarwal on April 20. Then, the Election Commission of India had fixed May 19 as the new date for the polls in Patkura. However later it was further postponed following cyclone Fani barreling through coastal districts.
