MUMBAI: A boat with full of 40 children capsize in the sea near Dahanu on the Maharashtra-Gujarat border incidentally at 2 nautical mill (3.70 kms) away from the beach has gone away. There were 40 children in this boat. Sadly, 4 children have died in this accident while 32 children have been rescued. But 4 children are still missing. These children belonged to El Ponda School and came to celebrate picnics. The area where the incident occurred is in Palghar district of Maharashtra. District Magistrate Prashant Naranwar said that the boat was in the Arabian Sea with 40 children, during which time the boats came about three and a half kilometers from the coast, then the pressure was lowered, seeing the boat sinking into the sea. At the time of the accident some fishermen were present in the sea; they reported this to the people present on the beach. After this, rescue operation was started. The search for the missing children is still continuing in the incident. Naval divers are looking for missing children.
According to reports, the coastguard left the ships present in the sea at that time to the spot. Among other students, the other missing students are being searched for fear of death. The boat was off from Paranaka beach here. Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is helping police and marine affairs officers in joint sea and air expeditions. Officials said that the ICG has sent three ships and two planes to the scene for relief and rescue.
