Diesel price hike at record level

New Delhi: Crude oil prices in the international market are increasing, the automobile sector is facing a huge burden in the domestic market. In Delhi, the price of diesel today reached Rs 60.81 per liter. Petrol became 70.62 rupees per liter. The government had decided to fix the prices of both the fuels on a daily basis from October 15 last year and after this there is a continuation of price hike.

In the New Year, the price of diesel has increased by Rs 1.17 a liter in Delhi. Diesel became Rs 60.81 per liter today as against Rs 59.64 in Delhi on December 31. The price of petrol has gone up by 95 paise per liter to Rs 70.62 per liter from Rs 69.67 in the corresponding period.

Crude oil has reached its highest level of 68 dollars per barrel in the international market.

In four metros, the cost of diesel in Mumbai is Rs 64.67 per liter. In Chennai it is Rs 64.09 and Kolkata Rs 63.47 per liter.

The price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 78.51 per liter. 1 Petrol in Kolkata is 73.36 rupees and Chennai is Rs 73.21 per liter.
