Ahmedabad: A few hours after the announcement of rename of Faizabad district as Ayodhya by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, the Gujarat government said that it is keen to make Ahmedabad to Karnavati if there is no legal barrier.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said in Gandhinagar that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is ready to change the name of Ahmedabad if it crosses legal barriers and gets the necessary support.
Patel said, “There is still a feeling among the people that Ahmedabad should be called Karnavati. If we get the necessary support to overcome legal barriers, then we are always ready to change the name of the metropolis.”
Faizabad district of UP will now be known as Ayodhya
Tell you that Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Tuesday that Faizabad district will now be known as Ayodhya. Earlier, Allahabad’s name was changed to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Ayodhya is a symbol of our ‘aan, baan and shan’.” Adityanath said, “Anyone cannot do injustice to Ayodhya.” He also said that Ayodhya is known from Lord Rama. Adityanath said these in ‘Deepotsav’, organized on the occasion of Deepawali.
He also announced the establishment of a medical college in Ayodhya in the name of Lord Rama and the name of Lord Rama’s father, King Dasharath, in the district.
Adityanath said in a program organized in ‘Katha Park’, ‘Deepotsav starts a new tradition.’ South Korea’s first woman Kim Jung-Suk also joined the program organized at Katha Park. On this occasion, several projects including reviving and beautifying of ‘Ram ki Padi’ and launching of sewerage in Sariu river were launched.
