Bhubaneswar: A Bio-Refinery project at an estimated cost of Rs 1,000 is coming up at Baulsingha Village, Bhatli Tehsil in Bargarh district.
The foundation stone of the project will be laid by Governor Ganeshi Lal on October 10. Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also grace the occasion, according to a release by Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
This Bio-Refinery will have a capacity to produce three crore litres of fuel grade Ethanol annually using Rice Straw as feedstock and the Ethanol produced from this plant will be blended with Petrol, it said.
The Bargarh Bio-Refinery will utilize about two Lakh tons of Rice straw annually as feedstock which will be sourced from nearby locations like Bhatli, Ambabhona, Attabira, Sohela, Burla, Lakhanpur villages.
