NEW DELHI: The matter of the Missionaries of Charity (MoC) in Jharkhand has now turned political in case of selling the newborns. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party on this issue. Mamata tweeted that the MoC had been set up by Mother Teresa herself but now they are not being spared. They are being maligned in a malicious manner.

Mamta said that MoC should not be disturbed and allowed to work for the poor. Sisters are now being targeted. It is worth mentioning that Mother Teresa’s reputation is associated with the missionaries of charity institution. Therefore, a lot of commotion started as soon as the news of the sale of the children from its shelters. However, the Bishop of Archdiocese of Ranchi described it as “a conspiracy to defame the Catholic Church”.

Not only on the MoC issue but also on the issue of Yogendra Yadav, Mamata targeted Center. She wrote that the 2019 Lok Sabha elections are coming, so BJP is misusing the agencies and trying to suppress the voice of the opposition and is openly doing politics of revenge. I condemn the IT raid in Yogendra Yadav’s brother-in-law’s hospital.
