These five big characters are behind the ‘Farmers March’

New Delhi: On the call of the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, thousands of farmers under the banner of more than 200 organizations across the country today land on the streets of the capital. According to the committee, people from 11 states of the country have come to Delhi. There are many demands of the farmers performing but a demand that is being prominently highlighted is to call a special session of Parliament to seriously consider the condition of the farmers. Discuss various issues related to farming for 20 days in the session and make laws. Many people have hard work and mind to unite these farmers to make a huge front in Delhi. These include journalists, farmer leaders and social workers.

P Sainath, senior journalist

P. Sainath is the country’s well known journalist. For a long time, he has been doing journalism related to farming, rural situation and poverty in the country. He worked as a rural correspondent and was editor of rural affairs in an English newspaper. Renowned economist Amartya Sen has considered him as a specialist in famine and starvation. A few days ago, P. Sainath talked about the need for such an agitation at a seminar. He had said that farmers and laborers from across the country should come together and go to Delhi. Only after this seminar of P. Sainath, the farmers-wage organizations decided to come together and the preparations for this demonstration started.

V.M. Singh, farmer leader

Sardar VN Singh, the national convener of the Indian Farmer Coordination Committee, is believed to be among the prominent people of this agitation. VN Singh did a lot of work to raise different organizations in one place. From time to time he came to the media and talked about this agitation.

Yogendra Yadav, Swaraj India

After separation from Aam Aadmi Party, Yogendra Yadav made Swaraj India and he has been done many work among the farmers across the country. He formed organization of Swaraj India in different parts of the country, and then continuously interact with the farmers. Yogendra Yadav’s organization Swaraj India is playing an important role in this farmer’s march.

Raju Shetty, AIKSCC member and MP

Raju Shetty is a member of the Indian Farmer Coordination Committee and MP from Hatkanangale of Maharashtra. Swabhimaan Shetkari Sangathan’s leader Raju Shetty is the faces of farmers in Maharashtra. In July this year, Raju Shetty had organized a movement for 2.5 lakh milk producing farmers of Maharashtra to get fair price of milk. Raising voice for the sugarcane farmers in November, Raju Shetty had launched a traffic jam movement. MP Raju Shetty had introduced two private Members’ Bill in the Lok Sabha in 2017, so that on the basis of recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission, the reasonable price for agricultural products and the debt could be waived.

Kedar Sirohi

Kisan leader Kedar Sirohi is a well-known name in Madhya Pradesh. Kedar Sirohi is known for raising voice in the favor of the farmers of the states. Kedar, the founder member of the Kisan Union, joined Congress this September.
