Two Devotees From Uttar Pradesh Killed, 20 Hurt In Road Accident

Bhadrak: At least two devotees died and twenty others seriously injured when a tourists’ bus carrying, them from Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh to pilgrim town Puri, rammed into a bamboo-laden truck near Charampa on the National Highway no-16 in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

The injured devotees were shifted to the District headquarters hospital. Health condition of five of them is stated to be critical.

The deceased persons are identified as Sib Narayan and Amit Shankar, both natives of Tandasufi village of Barbanki district od Uttar Pradesh.

The road accident took place during the morning hours. The driver of the vehicle might have possibly dozed off leading to the mishap. There is hint of ‘sleep’ in the accident, police said.
