Rampur: The matter involving Azam Khan making derogatory remarks against veteran actress and BJP candidate Jaya Prada has taken a toll after an FIR was launched against the SP leader. Responding on the matter, Jaya Prada feels that Khan should not be allowed to contest elections. “He shouldn’t be allowed to contest elections. Because if this man wins, what will happen to democracy? There’ll be no place for women in society. Where will we go? Jaya also pointed out that she will not be scared by such actions. “Should I die, then you’ll be satisfied? You think that I’ll get scared & leave Rampur? But I won’t leave”.
Not only this, Jaya Prada also questioned whether there is no mother wife or daughter in the house of Azam Khan, who made such remarks about women. He said that Azam Khan will also make such statements for the women of his house.
Jaya also claimed that Khan made offensive remarks against her in 2009 too when she was candidate from Samajwadi party. “It isn’t new for me, you might remember that I was a candidate from his party in’09 when no one supported me after he made comments against me. I’m a woman and I can’t even repeat what he said. I don’t know what I did to him that he is saying such things”, she said.
Azam defended himself
On the other hand, Azam Khan defended himself by saying that his comments meant for someone else. Khan’s clarification came after he allegedly while addressing a poll campaign rally in Rampur, made a below-the-belt remark against Prada. “I brought her (Jaya Prada) to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki underwear”, Khan said on Sunday. Asserting that he did not name anyone, the Samajwadi leader said that, he would withdraw his candidature from the ongoing polls if proved guilty.
“I have said that people took time to know real face in reference to a man once said that he brought 150 rifles with him and if he sees Azam, he would have shot him dead. My leaders also did a mistake. Now, it has been revealed that he has an RSS pant on his body. Short is worn by men,” Khan said.
