Malkangiri: Two women Maoist fighters carrying cash reward of Rs four lakh on their heads and who were natives of Makangiri district today surrendered before police in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
The Maoists who surrendered were identified as Shanty Madi and Shodi Loke. Both were natives of Padia block of the district. They were active members of Andhra-Odisha zonal committee of outlawed CPI(Maoist) outfit.
Both were initiated into Maoist ideology since 2005 when they were minors. They were involved in several operations against security forces, police said.
They will face trial in the court in accordance with law. After the completion of legal process, they will be rehabilitated under the policy of rehabilitating left-wing extremists, police added.
