Bhubaneswar: Almost one fourth of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers’ post are lying vacant in the State as the government told the assembly on Monday.
The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has cadre strength of 237 in Odisha, of which 53 posts are vacant. The rate of vacancies is estimated at 22%.
The State government has urged the centre for filling up of the vacancies for effective administration function.
Six newly recruited IAS officers of Odisha cadre were recently added to the strength of Odisha top bureaucracy hierarchy.
33 State cadre civil servants or Odisha Administrative Officers have been conferred promotion to IAS cadre in 2017 and 2018 year.
