BJD Tribal Woman Leader Kusum Tete Quits Party

Bhubaneswar: BJD leader Kusum Tete on Tuesday resigned from the primary membership of the party in protest against denial of ticket to contest the upcoming polls Sundargarh assembly constituency.

BHD president had earlier yesterday announced the selection of Jogesh Singh to contest the polls on party ticket. Singh as a congress candidate had incidentally defeated BJD nominee Tete in 2014 polls from Sundargarh assembly seat. Singh had earlier jumped fences to join BJD ahead of the polls. Tete, chairperson of Sundargarh Special Development Council (SDC), had earlier on March 17 resigned from the post.

BJD has meted out raw deal to me. I worked wholeheartedly for BJD’s growth in Sundargarh district. Still the party did not recognize by hard work. As a result I was forced to quit BJD”, she said.
