Four RPF Cops Suspended For PDS Rice Diversion

Bhubaneswar: At least four police personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF) were placed under suspension on the charge of alleged complicity in diversion of rice grains earmarked for Public Distribution System (PDS) in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district.

Disciplinary action was initiated against RPF personnel following the recovery of 288 bags of PDS rice carrying Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (OSCSC) insignia were seized from seized from a godown in Jharsuguda town.

The RPF Inspector LK Das, ASI SK Kumar, and havildars RV Thakur and D Baxla have been placed under suspension after their alleged nexus in PDS rice smuggling was detected, said officials adding that further investigation of the matter is underway.
