No Atal, no Advani, how BJP manifesto cover change in 5 years

New Delhi: In order to win the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has issued its manifesto. In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the BJP office, party president Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, head of the manifesto committee, issued the Vision Document. This time, the BJP’s stage had completely changed compared to 2014, neither senior leader LK Advani appeared on the stage nor Murli Manohar Joshi this time.

Who was present on the stage …?

While issuing the BJP’s manifesto on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, BJP’s Organization Minister Ramlal and Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot were present. Union minister Nitin Gadkari was also to join the program, but he could not join because of his campaign in the field.

How much stage changed from 2014?

If look out the BJP’s stage five years ago, then LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Ravi Shankar Prasad, JP Nadda were also present when issuing the manifesto. But this time they all were not present.

The cover also changed with the stage

This time, the cover of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto is filled only with just Narendra Modi’s pics, obviously the BJP is going into the polls in the name of Narendra Modi. Congress also made this cover page of BJP’s manifesto an issue. However, on the last page of the resolution letter, there is a picture of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Deendayal Upadhyay and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

How was the cover page last time

If look at the BJP’s manifesto of 2014 the whole leadership of the party at that time was on the cover page. In which former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Rajnath Singh (then President) was at the top and after that Narendra Modi (prime ministerial candidate), Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje and Raman Singh’s picture was included.

Clearly, then the BJP had included the chief ministers of BJP ruled states. However, this time none of these pictures are included. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manohar Parrikar are no longer in this world, whereas Shivraj-Raman-Vasundhara Raje is no longer in the chief minister’s post.

Significantly, the Bharatiya Janata Party has not given ticket to the 75+ leaders of the party including Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi this time. That is why Advani, senior leaders like Joshi were being upset with the party. Amit Shah will meet both the leaders this evening.
